I am a Swiss-qualified lawyer, having initially trained and passed the bar exam in Geneva (« titulaire du brevet d’avocat »). I subsequently qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales, and was later admitted to the New York Bar (USA).
I studied law at Geneva, Oxford, Cambridge and New York (NYU). My career has spanned international law firms and family offices advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI) on complex cross-border matters. I also served for six years as a judicial clerk at the Swiss Federal Administrative Tribunal, gaining extensive experience in Swiss immigration and nationality law, naturalisation, family reunification and visa matters.
I founded Schmid Legal Consulting (SLC) to offer individuals, families and organisations in Switzerland the kind of senior, experienced, multi-layered legal advice that is usually only available to large corporations. Based in Zurich, I advise clients throughout Switzerland and internationally.
My approach is simple: I listen carefully, I protect my clients’ interests with determination, and I measure success not against an abstract standard — but against where you started and what you set out to achieve. Advising in English, French and Portuguese.
